Welcome to Lake Bonavista

Lake Bonavista is Calgary's first (and best) lake community established in 1967. It has been planned to meet the recreational needs of your family in every season. It provides quick and easy access to major roads - Deerfoot Trail, MacLeod Trail, Anderson Road, and the LRT (C-Train). Most major amenities are within the community or close by including all levels of public and catholic schools, the Trico Centre, South Centre Shopping Mall, public library and for the outdoor enthusiast - Fish Creek Park. Fish Creek provides a perfect place for nature walks, jogging, and cycling and connects to the pathway system that takes you completely around the city.

This mature, safe neighbourhood has a very active community and recreation centre including the Frank McCool city arena for hockey and figure skaters but the true magic of this area is the private lake. Access to the 25-acre facility is restricted to Lake Bonavista residents and their guests. The lake itself is 1 KM long with a waterfall cascading at 200 gallons per minute from the top of the hill down into the lake to ensure a high level of aeration and thus fresh clean water. It is enjoyed year-round - in the winter for tobogganing, ice fishing and skating either on the large rink with a gas-fed bonfire or one of the several rinks and paths that are cleared and groomed daily with the Zamboni. Summer activities include swimming at one of the 2 well maintained sandy beaches, use of rowboats, kayaks and canoes and fishing for trout with which the lake is stocked twice a year. In addition to this, there are 8 tennis courts, a basketball area and a well-equipped playground.

I love to show off my community so if you are interested in buying or selling here don't hesitate to call.
