The Palisades in North West Edmonton is a community set in a scenic location in the provincial capital of Alberta. The Palisades is in fact not one, but six different North Western Edmonton neighborhoods. To its north is one of the main transport corridors of the region - Anthony Henday Drive. To the south are access points to other residential parts of the city and the buzzing Downtown. Things to do in The Palisades

During summer, games at the baseball diamond here are a regular feature on most resident’s agendas. In winter, this park offers you the chance to go ice skating at the outdoor rink. For a round of golf, you can step out to nearby Twin Willows Golf Club or pick from the many beautifully laid out courses across this river valley region. The landscape on courses near the North Saskatchewan River that cuts through the Edmonton area is especially breathtaking.

Pembina is a great section of The Palisades to let down your hair or celebrate a special occasion without having to go too far. Residents can choose from catching a game at a sports centre here or enjoying a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants. This is also where many locals stock up on their essentials at Best Buy and Home Depot or grab a quick fast food meal when a craving strikes! This part of Edmonton is well located for retail options as well. You’ll find getting to popular places like Northgate Mall and Northgate Centre or Skyview Power Centre, a breeze. Even the mammoth West Edmonton Mall is a short drive away.

Eating fresh is important to many residents, and you'll see this passion on display at the many farmers' markets in Edmonton. The City Market on 104th comes alive on Saturdays with shoppers and vendors and is also a place to grab a quite bite of some freshly baked goods or other hot food. Markets like the St. Albert Outdoor Farmers' Market, the South Common Farmers' market, and Callingwood Farmers' Market opens for a day each week all through late spring and summer. Old Strathcona Farmers' Market beats the elements with its indoor venue, allowing it to run all year round. 

Residents gather to celebrate major events in neighborhood parties in The Palisades, as well as a city level events. Gallagher Park, a 20-minute drive from here, is the venue for one of Edmonton's marquis events - the annual Folk Music Festival. For a few days each August, this part of Edmonton breathes music - the outdoor event is a great place to connect with other locals or plan a day out with your neighbours. Another highlight is the world-renowned Fringe Festival that puts local talent on display alongside some world-class performers from further afield.
