The New Community of Oleskiw

Oleskiw, Edmonton occupies a massive 382 hectares of Edmonton, making it one of the biggest residential communities of the city. The Wolf Willow Ravine runs to the north of Oleskiw. 170th Street lies to its west and the ravine also forms a boundary to the northeast. The North Saskatchewan River valley lie to the south and east. The arterial Wanyandi Road serves the Oleskiw community well, connecting homes within the area and offering easy access to neighbourhoods beyond. Nearby Whitemud Drive allows residents to reach downtown or head to other parts of the city centre, effortlessly.

The idyllic neighbourhood ofOleskiw, Edmonton didn't always go by this name. Earlier called Wolf Willow Farms, it took on its new name in 1972.  The Oleskiw area is named after Dr. Oleskiw, who was responsible for a lot of the influx of Ukrainian settlers to Edmonton.
