The breathtakingly beautiful, green neighbourhood of Miller is located in the northeast quadrant of Edmonton, Alberta. The established community is sandwiched between Ebbers neighbourhood in the east and Casselman neighbourhood in the west.

The New Community of Miller

Development of the Miller community began after Edmonton city adopted the Casselman-Heights District Outline Plan in 1972 to develop the overall area. Almost all of the residential development in Miller commenced after 1996 and carried on until the early 2000s. More than a thousand houses were built within the span of a decade. Prior to the development, the land was used for agriculture with some portions under active cultivation. 

The neighbourhood is named after a Hungarian origin lawyer, community volunteer and politician Abe William Miller who immigrated to Canada in 1899. Miller practiced law for four decades after he moved to the City of Edmonton in 1914. While serving as the City Council’s member for six years, he was also a member of legislature.
