Churchill Station, Central Station, Bay/Enterprise Square Station, Stadium Station and MacEwan Station are the closest LRTs that residents of the community can access. The Edmonton Transit System provides bus service in the neighbourhood.
Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre is the closest shopping mall from Holyrood. There’s also a small strip shopping centre in the neighbourhood. The Holyrood Community League represents the community, established in 1956, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at Holyrood Road and 94 Avenue.

The neighbourhood of Holyrood started developing only in the 1950s, making it one of the oldest and most mature Edmontonian communities. It was founded in the early 1900s and since then, it has had four names. In 1912, it was called both Mount Pleasant and East Edmonton Gardens. A couple of decades later, the area was called Balmoral, and in 1953, the area was renamed Holyrood because of the duplication of subdivision names.
